In textile industry, the biggest issue is mass production and mass disposal.
In addition to that, fibers coming out from daily washes is a matter of concern.

VORTEX continues to work on five themes for a sustainable world.

Minimize the production

: The features of VORTEX spinning machine is space-saving and high productivity. Three processes (roving, spinning and winding) necessary for conventional spinning are integrated into one process, reducing the required space to a compact layout.
Productivity is more than 20 times higher than that of conventional ring spinning machine. Even VORTEX 16 spindles as minimum has productivity equivalent to 320 ring spinning spindles, and 96 spindle as maximum has a productivity equivalent to almost 2,000 ring spinning spindles.
The time required from supplying materials to starting production is short, and VORTEX can reach the required production at the earliest. This is an ideal machine for small lot production.

Longer life products

: VORTEX yarn features such as anti-pilling and wash resistance extend the life of the products.

Environment Friendly

: Fibers should be twisted to be an yarn. VORTEX give the twist by air, not by using any rotating parts like other spinning systems. Rotating parts require more energy to speed up, but VORTEX has comparatively lesser energy consumption even though the speed is increased. Murata Machinery, Ltd. continues to develop to reduce the power consumption in spinning.

: VORTEX yarn has less hairiness than that of other systems. Not only in spinning process, but in weaving preparation or knitting, there are less fluff accumulation. It is also reported that cleaning frequency of the knitting machine has been substantially reduced.

Gentle to water

: Less hairiness makes it possible to reduce the sizing in weaving process. Less sizing leads to easier de-sizing. Also it is reported that less temperature is required in dry the sizing liquid. It may help to reduce the greenhouse gas.

: VORTEX yarn structure brings less lint shedding in washing.

Follow the trend

: Current tendency of "small lot", "more variation" in textile industry increase the demand of digital printing. To keep the clear image of the printing, the most suitable fabric is made out of VORTEX yarn with less hairiness.

: We are actively engaged in the spinning of a variety of sustainable raw materials, dope-dyed fibers (*1), recycled polyester. As sustainable materials tend to be produced in small lots, VORTEX spinning machine has been evaluated for easy setting, easy lot change and its wide range of yarn count and material.

*1：Instead of conventional dyeing, which consumes a lot of water and chemicals, pre-dyed raw materials are used. Usage of doped dyed materials has been increasing in recent years.

: We actively propose the spinning of special yarn, which has not been easy before, such as the core filament yarn in which filament as functional material can be put into the core of yarn. By adding or changing different functionalities in the core, the usage of raw materials can be optimized. Compared to conventional ring-spinning, VORTEX core yarn has been evaluated for much less spliced points and high productivity.
